Spring Drink: a story on every can

Packaging for a line of sparkling water with natural juice in aluminium cans and three flavours:
lime, strawberry and banana.

The task. Design packaging for the whole series, make each flavour easy to tell apart, and find a creative way to connect the straw with the design — through a central axis on every can that continues the line of the straw.

My idea. Make that axis part of a story. On the lime can the straw becomes a beam of light from a UFO that lands on Earth in search of limes. On the strawberry can it’s the neck of a diplodocus racing other dinosaurs to escape a strawberry meteor shower. On the banana can it’s a vine with a lemur hanging from it, reaching for a banana.

It started with sketches: many scenes, each built around one flavour and one line that continues the straw.

Once the concept was approved, I refined the Spring Drink lettering so it feels light, natural and fizzy.
